Buckhoist OperatorJob SummaryPRT Staffing is seeking an experienced Buckhoist Operator to safely operate and maintain a material and personnel hoist on an active construction site. The operator will be responsible for transporting workers, tools, and materials between floors while maintaining full compliance with site safety policies and operational standards. Key Responsibilities
Operate buckhoist equipment to move personnel, tools, and materials to designated levels.
Perform pre‑shift inspections and report any safety or mechanical issues immediately.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with ground crew, signal personnel, and supervisors.
Follow all safety rules including load limits, lockout/tagout procedures, and emergency response protocols.
Keep hoist areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Ensure safe loading and unloading practices to prevent overloading or unsafe conditions.
Document daily operations, inspections, and maintenance concerns.
Assist with general site support tasks when hoist operation is not required.
Required Qualifications
Ability to read and follow construction site safety procedures and signals.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to operate hoist equipment safely in a fast‑paced construction environment.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Work Environment
Active construction site with exposure to heights, noise, and changing weather conditions.
Required PPE includes hard hat, high‑visibility vest, safety glasses, work boots, and gloves.
