Pay Rate: $30 p/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position OverviewThe Credit & Collections Representative is responsible for managing credit limits, payment terms, and the collection of delinquent accounts receivable for an assigned portfolio of customers. This role works closely with Sales, Customer Service, and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues, mitigate risk, and ensure timely collections while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review customer orders placed on credit hold and determine whether to release or maintain the hold based on account status.
  • Collect outstanding balances from delinquent accounts within an assigned portfolio.
  • Partner with Sales Consultants to provide guidance on collection efforts and account resolution strategies.
  • Identify potential bad debt accounts, attempt recovery, and escalate to management as appropriate.
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to statements, payment status, and account balances via phone and email.
  • Assist with customer account reconciliation to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Review customer credit limits upon request and approve increases up to $25,000.
  • Recommend and prepare accounts for referral to third-party collection agencies after internal efforts are exhausted.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, etc.) to resolve disputes and gather required documentation.
  • Assist customers with payment portal setup and electronic billing (e-delivery) requests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field OR equivalent industry experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Credit & Collections or Accounts Receivable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to clearly present information and respond to inquiries from customers, suppliers, management, and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle PeopleSoft) and credit reporting tools (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet, Creditsafe) preferred.
