PRT Staffing Is Hiring an Electrician – Instrument Technician
PRT Staffing is seeking an experienced Electrician – Instrument Tech to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and instrumentation systems in an industrial environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely in demanding conditions.

What You’ll DoInstallation & Assembly
  • Install and assemble electronic equipment and systems
  • Build and install components using hand and power tools
Maintenance & Repair
  • Perform routine maintenance on electronic and instrumentation systems
  • Diagnose issues and repair or replace faulty components
  • Align and adjust system components as needed
Troubleshooting & Testing
  • Troubleshoot complex electronic and instrumentation problems
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify failures
  • Test equipment, calibrate sensors, and ensure systems meet quality standards
Documentation & Collaboration
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
  • Maintain logs and records of maintenance and repairs
  • Document system changes and generate work reports
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other departments
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electronic theory, components, and systems
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and amp meters
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Effective communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment
Work Environment
  • Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high places
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures
  • Risk of electrical shock and vibration
  • Noise level is typically loud
