Minimum 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial refrigeration and food manufacturing environment
Ammonia Certification from GCAP or RETA required
EPA Type II Certification required
Must be able to pass:
Respirator Fit Test
Pulmonary Function Test
24-hour Hazmat Training Course
? Job Responsibilities:
Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair:
Ammonia refrigeration systems and sub-systems
Boilers, hot water systems, compressed air systems, and domestic cold water systems
Perform planned maintenance on ammonia and utility systems
Operate and maintain spiral freezers
Maintain material integrity of refrigeration and utility rooms
Perform or learn ammonia pump downs to repair or replace system parts
Complete all required documentation including:
Work Orders (WO’s)
Refrigeration operation notes
PSM-related updates or changes
Automate and digitize maintenance and ammonia refrigeration records
Conduct daily rounds and inspections of ammonia systems
Perform chemical testing on boilers and condenser towers
Adhere to all company policies including:
Safety policies (Lockout/Tagout, etc.)
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations
Work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance/Refrigeration Manager
