Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday | 2:00PM – 11:00 PM

Industry: Food Production / ManufacturingPRT Staffing is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume food manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for candidates with strong electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment.
Work Environment• Food manufacturing and production facility
• Refrigerated environment approximately 40°F
• Some areas may reach temperatures as low as 0°F
• Fast-paced production setting
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repair• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions
• Maintain production equipment to minimize downtime
Electrical Systems• Work with 480V, 277V, 3-phase electrical systems
• Troubleshoot 220V and 120V single-phase systems
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Balance electrical loads and troubleshoot wiring issues
Plumbing Systems• Run and repair drain lines
• Maintain oil-water separators
• Repair sinks, toilets, urinals, and water heaters
• Replace O-rings, seals, and plumbing components
HVAC & Facility Systems• Replace belts and filters
• Clean condensers and HVAC components
• Adjust VAV boxes and monitor building temperatures
• Assist with HVAC and industrial refrigeration maintenance
General Facility Maintenance• Maintain dock levelers and trailer restraints
• Repair high-speed doors and exhaust fans
• Troubleshoot motors, starters, and frequency drives
• Maintain occupancy sensors, lighting systems, and heaters
• Complete general facility repairs including painting, drywall, ceiling tile replacement, and other maintenance tasks
Documentation & Communication• Enter and track work orders and repairs within SAP
• Communicate effectively with operators, maintenance staff, and leadership teams
• Maintain accurate maintenance records

QualificationsRequired• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience working with 480V, 277V, and 3-phase systems
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Plumbing and HVAC maintenance experience
• Ability to use SAP or similar maintenance management systems
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Preferred• Trade School or Technical School education
• Food manufacturing experience
• Industrial refrigeration experience
• Robotics or automation experience
• Material handling equipment maintenance experience
• Welding experience
Physical Requirements• Lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments
• Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and machinery
