Job Description

Position Title - JEFFERSON GEORGIA
  • Production Welder - In Jefferson Georgia
  Overall Responsibility
  • Uses mig welder to assemble fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.
  • Fitting & welding parts using information from production drawings and shop travelers.
 Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for making welds to meet specifications on prints.
  • Responsible for producing strong penetrated welds the are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
  • Responsible for setting welding machine to proper voltage and wire speed for material being welded.
  • Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly process.
  • Responsible for keeping work area clean and orderly and tools and machines well maintained.
 Skills and Attributes
  • Knowledge of welding processes and equipment
  • Ability to weld vertical, flat, and overhead with good penetration and a quality weld.
  • Ability to operate acetylene torches Math skills including metric system and angles.
  • Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings and AWS weld symbols.
  • Ability to operate forklift and overhead cranes.
  • Physical ability to weld in awkward positions such as kneeling or lying down
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work from a ladder.
 Experience Requirements
  • Vocational school training or three years welding experience in related field
