Job Description: Print Press OperatorPosition SummaryThe Print Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining printing press equipment to produce high‑quality printed materials in accordance with production specifications. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to established operating and safety procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and calibrate the printing press for each production job, including installing printing plates and adjusting ink flow, pressure, tension, and speed.
Operate and monitor press equipment to ensure consistent, quality output throughout the production run.
Load materials such as paper, substrates, and ink according to job requirements.
Conduct regular quality checks by inspecting samples for color accuracy, alignment, and print consistency.
Troubleshoot equipment issues including paper jams, print defects, and mechanical malfunctions.
Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
Maintain accurate production records, including materials used, quantities produced, and operational notes.
Follow all safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Collaborate with prepress personnel to verify that printing plates and digital files are properly prepared for production.
QualificationsRequired
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating printing press equipment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform prolonged standing and physical tasks.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Mechanical aptitude and understanding of printing processes.
Preferred
Experience in label, packaging, or flexographic printing environments.
Understanding color theory and print quality control procedures.
Skills
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment.
Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.

Working Conditions Manufacturing/production environment with exposure to machinery and moving parts.
